One key in appsettings,
validated offline
A Translation Pro key is a signed string we email you after payment. Put it under Flowcourier:Licenses:TranslationPro in appsettings or an environment variable and the batch view, the Azure engine and termbase editing unlock. No licence server, no call home, air-gapped hosting works. Without a key translation keeps working exactly like the free package, and any termbase data stays readable and exportable.
Per site
A key is bound to the domains you name when you order. localhost, 127.0.0.1 and *.local hosts always pass, so one key covers production and every developer machine. Name your staging domain too if you want it covered.
One payment
Paid once. There is no subscription, no yearly renewal and nothing that switches off when a budget runs out.
Bound to the Umbraco major version
Issued for the Umbraco major version you run, for example Umbraco 17, and covers every update of the package within it. Moving to the next major needs a new key, usually a line in your upgrade project.
Trial and invoice
A trial key is the same key with an expiry date. Write to [email protected] with your domains and Umbraco version. We invoice in EUR.
Is anything limited in the free edition?
No. Single-page translation, the review workflow with reminders, the Translation Workflow dashboard and dictionary translation are free, with no key and no domain restriction, on commercial sites too. The paid features are batch translation, the Azure Translator engine and the termbase.
What exactly does Translation Pro add?
Three things inside the same package: multi-page and entire-site batch translation with one approval email per batch, the Azure Translator engine for more than 100 languages through your own Azure resource, and a termbase of approved translations and do-not-translate terms enforced on every translation.
What do I need besides the key?
Umbraco 17.5 or later with the Umbraco AI Copilot and a chat profile, SMTP for the approval emails and, for the Azure engine, your own Azure Translator resource. Its F0 tier is free for two million characters a month; translation usage is billed by your provider, not by us.
Is the price a yearly fee?
No. One payment per site, bound to the Umbraco major version you run. Nothing expires and nothing renews.
What does bound to the Umbraco major version mean?
The key names the Umbraco major it covers, for example 17, and every package update within it. When you upgrade to the next major you order a new key for it.
What counts as a site?
The public domains listed on the key. Every environment under a listed domain works, local hosts always work, and a multi-site install needs each public domain on the key.
What happens without a key, or when a trial expires?
Translation keeps working exactly like the free package: the chat-profile engine translates, batch runs and the Azure engine are off, and the termbase stays readable and exportable with changes blocked. The reason is shown under Settings, Flowcourier, Translation Pro. Add a valid key and it resumes.
Where does my content go?
To the LLM behind your own Umbraco AI chat profile, or to your own Azure Translator resource. Never through Flowcourier.
Which Umbraco versions are supported?
Umbraco 17.5 and later on .NET 10, with Umbraco AI and a chat profile installed.
How do I install the key?
Put it under Flowcourier:Licenses:TranslationPro in appsettings, or in the matching environment variable. The licence state is shown under Settings, Flowcourier, Translation Pro and on the Translation Agent view.
Need a trial key or an invoice?
Write to [email protected] with the domains to cover and your Umbraco version, or call and we sort it out on the spot.
